NEW DATES FOR 2025

Manifest 2025 is 6th – 10th August 2025

Manifest is a celebration of being male, nature & freedom; it encourages you to let go, share your heart, have a damn good laugh. Since 1995 men of all ages have gathered on the ancient wild landscape of Dartmoor, where we jointly create a completely unique space.

The camp is held in the heart of the moors. You’ll receive directions when you book. With soft grasses, ancient trees, granite tors, flowing water, fresh air and empty skies, it is the perfect environment to celebrate beauty, abundance and life.

Where the Men Stand
There is a place, where the men stand,
High up, on the hill
Looking out.
The rivers, the woods, the fields and the flowers,
Spread out below them.
The wind, what wind there is,
Moves gently amongst them,
And the sun, blessed sun,
Kisses their backs.
No one speaks.
If you could see them there
You would not question their decision.
I have stood there
Amongst them on that hill
And I know what brings them
The sweet, inexpressible knowledge
That in all this,
In all this beauty,
There is a place,
High up on that hill,
Where the men stand.
Do not ask yourself
Why?
Or listen to the clattering voices
that make each step a decision.
Take the forest path and climb.
And take your place
High up on that bright hill.
They are waiting.

What happens at Manifest

As always, arrival at Beardown Farm is from Wednesday afternoon and leaves Sunday at 3pm

Arrival at camp on Wednesday from 4pm – with soup at 7pm and an opening circle at 8pm

At Manifest everyone gets a say in how the camp is run. Once we have all arrived the camp runs on the principles of ‘Open Space’, where each participant has a chance of asking for what they want. In the opening circle you can offer ideas for activities such as football, archery, a walk on the moors and singing, or for discussions and sharing about specific issues. There is always an opportunity to add ideas as the camp progresses. A few things can be expected to already be part of the camp, such as a feast and a cabaret (where anyone is welcome to offer a performance, or be a supportive audience

member). On Thursday morning the camp creates itself, drawing on everyone’s inspiration, ideas and desires to form a tapestry of events, themes, offerings, games and challenges … bringing another unique Manifest to life…

We know from past experience that the camp works best when the participants commit to staying for the whole duration. We are also aware that some people can’t commit, but would like to get a flavour of the camp. For this reason the camp is open to ‘visitors’ on the first night – males who would like connect but can’t stay for four days. They are welcome to remain until the end of Thursday, making a donation for their visit. After this the camp is closed to others joining, and we request that those remaining stay until Sunday afternoon, with the camp completing around 3pm.

Health and Safety

Manifest is not an organisation but an event that is entirely put together by volunteers and run by those attending. Although we operate on the understanding that we will all look out for each other, you need to know that when you join the camp you will be asked to sign a statement saying that you take full responsibility for your own safety and the safety of any children that you bring to the camp.
